There are many reasons for an eating disorder; however universally once you have one, you are trapped in a world of illusion. You cannot see the reality of your own unique healthy beauty. Most people find it almost impossible to stop an eating disorder without professional help. This program experientially addresses the underlying symptoms of these disorders, allowing new ways to see and interact in the world in the moment with a  psychotherapist, equine specialist and one or more horses and a one-on-one or group session experience to re-experience your power and uniqueness. This is considered an adjunct program that should go along with a doctors care, not as a stand-alone treatment.
The key issues worked with in this program include:
  • Healthy Communication
  • Trust
  • Boundaries
  • Self Empowerment
  • Family Dynamics
  • Relationship Dynamics
  • Trauma Renegotiation
  • Self Care
  • Leadership

  • Control Issues

This program utilizes an eating disorder workbook, storytelling, journaling and expressive art therapies in conjunction with equine psychotherapy sessions.
