Equine Assisted Grief Therapy Program

A 4 week coaching-therapy group includes 8 bi-weekly sessions.
Ages 3-8, 9-15 and 16 - Adults

This program was originally created by Michael Dawson in the Denver Colorado area.
It is a powerful and experiential process to address grief issues in therapy for children and adults utilizing the unique and non-judgmental empathy of the horse as well as special training by therapists to facilitate this healing process.
This course runs for 4 weeks and includes sessions twice a week which cover:

  • Taking Care of Yourself
  • We Grieve What We Are Connected To
  • The Mourning Process
  • Grief’s Persistent Questions
  • In Greener Pastures
  • Creativity and Empathy: The Language of Grieving
  • Activities for Grieving Children
  • Activities for Grieving Adults
Class details and registration: Groups meet for approximately 60 minutes a session, once a week and are required to be 4 – 8 people for a group session.
